Becca's Fancy Nancy Party

My niece Becca McDaniel had a Fancy Nancy party on May 23rd to celebrate her fourth year. It was such a lovely party that my sisters Tiffany and Cassie held. I actually surprised them by attending (they didn't even expect my appearance). There were many Fancy Nancy activities including decorating gift bags, story time, fancy tea party, bingo, scavenger hunt, fashion show (I actually participated by showing the children how to walk down the walkway-I know a thing or two about Fashion shows), and Becca opened her gifts. The girls were so cute and Jaden was the only boy who took over the Fashion show with his amazing somersault and poises-so cute (reminds me of Jason-hilarious). It was a wonderful party and I'm so glad I decided to attend Becca's special birthday.

What a hottie!

Isn't Adrian adorable? Well, I haven't had a chance to take a picture of Adrian's cute running outfit or visor but I thought I would test out my new camera. I have a feature called color accent which makes a picture black/white. I love my new Canon camera. Thanks Adrian for the best gift ever. I love it!

Training for the 1/2 Marathon

Here I am-sporting my new look. Adrian and I went to Sports Authority last Saturday and each bought a new running outfit. It took us awhile but we found the perfect look. Adrian even bought a visor and I think he looks hot. I'll have to sneak my camera to take a picture of him. So cute! Well, I am continuing to train for the 1/2 marathon in August. I'm a little nervous but I think I can do it. It may be a tad bit crazy but it will be fun. Hopefully Adrian can continue to train with me but we shall see-his knees have been hurting. Poor Adi. Well, if you have advice regarding running, let me know. Thanks.

My 30th Birthday

Yesterday, I celebrated my 30th birthday (May 19th-in case some of you were confused by my last blog). The day started out perfectly. I got to open my gifts and cards with my favorite hubby-Adrian. I got a "special" plate and some money from my parents. Then I was surprised to get a brand new camera from Adrian. I was definitely surprised as I thought I was going to get an expensive straighter for my hair. Wow! I was already impressed with my birthday surprises and the day just started. Later, an anonymous family member decorated my front door. How fun! Also, I had planned to spend the day with my two sisters-Cassie and Tiffany. Yes, they felt privileged! We went to Gardner Village to eat at Archibald's Restaurant and look in a few of the fun stores. Throughout the day, I received emails, face book messages, flowers, and even a birthday serenade by two of our favorite neighbors-Keith and Keri. What a fun day! That night Adrian and I went to one of my favorite restaurants-Zupas. Yummy! It was so fun to spend the day with the people I love. It was definitely a birthday to remember. Thank you so much for celebrating my birthday with me. I love you all!

Happy Birthday to me!

Since I took my birthday off, someone wrote me a note on KSL.com. Check it out at http://www.ksl.com/public/announcement/view/550. I have truly loved getting calls, emails, and various messages on my birthday. I even had my door decorated by an anonymous family member. Also, Keith and Keri sang to me even when I was doped on Benadryl. Thank you to all that have contributed to making my birthday special.

30th Birthday Surprises

People love me! This morning I came to work and found lots of fun birthday surprises. Mindy, Mark and Aaron all helped to make my birthday special. Mindy decorated my desk with colorful streamers, balloons, and thankfully no confetti. It was awesome! She also baked a special cake just for me which I did share with all of my wonderful co-workers. They also bought me the Eclipse book from the Twilight series and a box of Slim-Fast shakes (yummy). It was so thoughtful of all of them. Thank you so much for brightening up my day. Don't I look great for almost being 30 years old? I think yes! Please don't tell me I don't look my age, that would only diminish my excitement for turning 30. Please just tell me I look great and that I do look like I'm 30 years old. That would definitely make my day. I know it sounds weird but all of my life, people have told me that I don't look my age and that I'll be grateful later on. Who cares about growing older. I love it! Bring it on. It just makes life more interesting. Well, happy birthday to me. I love growing older and I'm definitely looking forward to my 30's. They are supposed to be the best years of your life. Yippee!

New Year's Goals

So far 2009 has been excellent! The goals that I made in January are being completed. I continue to read new books-about one per week. As for running...this may come to you as a shock but I signed up for the Provo River 1/2 Marathon. It is August 8th and I have started the 13 weeks of training. Yes, I know it is a giant leap but my friends Keri Smith and Emily Fuller have urged me to join them on the "fun" run. Adrian might also join us but we shall see. He hasn't run very much so he doesn't want to injure himself. As for me, I just want to finish the 13.10 miles. It has been a really fun activity for Adrian and I to do together (Quality time with Adrian). We started running together after he bought some running shoes for his birthday (May 5th). Also, this year I am turning 30 (less than a week away) and I can't wait. They say and I don't know who "they" are but your 30's are the best years of your life. Well, it is only going to get better so bring it on. What are some of your goals?

Happy Birthday Adrian

It was my cute husband's 31st Birthday yesterday (Cinco de Mayo). This year, Adrian decided that we would go to Park City to buy his present. I tried to get him to buy rollerblades but he insisted on buying running shoes. So, we went last weekend but didn't find anything and it was raining quite a lot. We went to a couple of malls and ended up at Sports Authority. Adrian found some great Asics running shoes and a new running outfit. Isn't he cute? We ran together yesterday and the weather was perfect. It was the perfect couples activity. Since I'm a little corny but creative, I wrote up "31" reasons why I love Adrian and gave it to him as a bonus gift. I also gave him a free "31"Flavors icecream coupon. Happy Birthday Adrian. I love you and am so grateful you are in my life.

Women's Conference-April 30th-May 1st

This year I went to the BYU's Woman's Conference with my Deseret Book friend and her friend Natalie. I also went to a few classes with my sister Tiffany. I had such a wonderful experience and I am truly grateful for the opportunity. It was two days full of spiritual enlightenment and I gained a stronger testimony of the gospel. Some of my favorite speakers were Mary Ellen Edmonds who spoke on "Letting go of the world:It is time to sell the summer cottage in Babylon." If you haven't heard Sister Edmonds, you are truly missing out because she is hilarious. Another one of my favorite talks was "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, Therewith to be content." This talk really hit home and I needed to hear it. Sometimes we plan out our lives but it ends up being totally different because Heavenly Father is in charge. We never know what will happen in our lives but we can live with what circumstance we are facing. Julie B. Beck as well as Elder L. Tom Perry spoke on Friday and they had excellent talks as well (Can't wait for the Woman's Conference book to come out). I shot a picture of L. Tom Perry, however, my camera didn't capture the closeness (I was on the first row). It was amazing when he walked in because the room was quiet in an instant. I was pretty amazed since I realized how crazy all of the ladies are at the conference. I'm not kidding! You have to run to your next class, dodge all of the ladies, cut corners (oops) and miss any sort of meal to go to a class. Good thing, I had lots of treats with me. I also was able to get some Kettle corn and yummy almonds (my favorite). I'm so glad I had the chance to take a couple days off work and go to such an amazing conference. I wasn't able to participate in the service or concert night since I spent that time with my sister Cassie. However, the time that I took to listen and think about my life were well spent. I have many goals that I would like to work on the next coming months. I was definitely spiritually fed by many wonderful speakers.

New baby boy

I finally went to visit my friend Laura and her new baby boy-Benjamin Rush Jensen. Laura is doing well and it sure was fun to hold her new baby. He is adorable! It was almost his feeding time so that is why he is crying. It wasn't me, honest!

Customized Christmas Stockings

My co-worker Aaron wanted me to customize some Christmas stockings for him and his wife. So, he chose Ohio State University and butterfly's for Jodi. Hope you enjoy your new stockings. If you are interested, visit my other website at http://emileeschristmasjoy.blogspot.com/. Thanks.
