Introducing...

ELIJAH KAI REYNOLDS

It all started on July 5th when I started having back pains. These weren't ordinary pains, they were actual labor pains which brought me to tears.

So we decided to call the doctor and they told us to come in to get checked. We ended up bringing our suitcase, car seat and anything else just in case. I was so glad I did. However, I forgot to bring something for poor Adrian. I didn't want to do anything but get some pain meds. The pain was THAT bad.

My doctor told me I was dilated to a 3 and was in labor so she admitted us. She said I could get something to eat since the hospital starves you or I could get admitted. I wanted drugs so I skipped lunch. At least I managed to eat cereal that morning. It was still not enough food. They did give me flavored ice chips. Finally I received my epidural and I was quite happy!

The epidural didn't take away all of the pain but it took away the contraction pain. I had back pain and felt A LOT of pressure. Good thing my anesthesiologist was in surgery and couldn't help. BLAH! Adrian was quite mad because I wasn't having a good time. Luckily I had my sisters Cassie and Tiffany there to cheer me on. Thank goodness! I also had a fever and threw up A TON. The time finally came for me to push and my mom arrived from California just in time. I think she made a deal with Heavenly Father. I was glad that she was there to also be one of my cheerleaders. I pushed for about an hour and a half and was able to watch the whole thing from a mirror. So cool! The last push was my favorite because he slipped right out and I felt a ton of relief. Thank goodness the doctor didn't have to use the vacuum.

Here is the first time I held my son Elijah. I didn't even cry at that moment but the relief was there.

I love my son so much!

Here is our new family photo.

Daddy got to hold little Eli. So precious!

He is a natural with him. I love Adrian so much!

He weighed 6 lbs 12 oz, 21 inches long. Thank goodness he wasn't any bigger. Otherwise, I may have had a c-section. Yikes!

He is so adorable! He even had a cone head when he came out. But, now his head is perfect and his hair is awesome!

Here are my wonderful cheerleaders. Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. I'm also glad that you took the time from Park city to come to the big event.

I had a lot of visitors at the hospital. I look like a muchkin compared to my dad. I'm so glad they were able to make it. What a blessing to have my parents there!

He is still a wonderful daddy. He feeds him, changes his diaper and does so much for our little family.

Here is my brother Jason. He even came to visit.

Thanks Mindy for coming. I know Elijah appreciated you there.

Here is mommy and son.

Grandma was a huge help to baby Elijah!

Here is my doctor Camille Stevenson. However, she wasn't the one that delivered Elijah. She was with her family but she came to visit the next day and even apologized for not being there. I still really like her. She got me through my entire pregnancy so I appreciate her so much.

Finally we can take a nap. Isn't that adorable or what?

Baby Elijah is so content and loves to cuddle with mommy.

Emily came to visit Elijah and she is getting excited to meet her son in about 7 weeks. Good luck! I'll be cheering you on.

My favorite quote from people who visit us is, "Wow, I am so surprised that you had such a beautiful baby." What in the world? Why wouldn't we have a beautiful baby. After all, we are beautiful people. I don't know why they are so surprised. Well, it sure makes me laugh. He is so precious and I'm so grateful that he is healthy and strong. I love Elijah so much! I have definitely felt the spirit more in our home these last couple of days. It is amazing what a tiny baby can do to ones home. Thanks for all of the support everyone! Come and visit us!
