8 month old

Elijah is now 8 months old. Wow! Time sure goes by fast. I do think he has the most beautiful eyes ever. Yes, I am his mother but I'm telling the truth. Anyway, what can he do now....?

-Can sit on his own but I'll stay by his side in case he falls which happens quite often

-Knows how to get out of church...that is for sure. He has a great set of lungs and seems to be louder than any baby. I wanted to hear Adrian's Gospel Doctrine lesson but he was really really loud. Sorry sweetie.

-Still sleeps through the night from about 7pm to 7am (It is so wonderful). He also takes two naps a day (no wonder he is cranky at church-it is his nap time)

-Takes a bottle quite well which is very convenient for mommy

-Loves to play with anything that is in front of him (even my pump)

-My favorite new thing is that he crys if anyone holds him. Hee hee! I love it! I know it won't last a long time so I'm enjoying every minute of it.

-He also started smiling at people and then turning away like he is shy. It is cute but I hope he isn't a shy child.

-Mommy has been teaching Eli how to kick a ball so that she can be a soccer mom when he grows up.

-He still looks A LOT like Adrian and I get to hear it almost every day. I even heard it from a complete stranger who had never seen Adrian. She said, "Does your baby look like his daddy because he sure doesn't look like you." My goodness...that was rude! It is fun that he looks like Adrian but enough already. You don't have to continue to remind me every single day. It is a little funny though.

Eli's beautiful room

I've been meaning to post a picture of Eli's new crib for quite some time. I was waiting to hang his six month photos. Finally, I hung them. I also continue to organize and re-organize his closet. I'm waiting to earn $5 amazon gift cards so I can purchase these cool bins. They are about $10 each. They also come in pink so if we have a girl next then it will be perfect for the boy/girl room. Ha Ha, I'm already planning ahead. Anyway, I thought I would show everyone his cool room. I shot the photo while he was sleeping so I didn't take one of the polka dot rug, chair and other decor.

Decorating for St. Patty's day

A little leprechaun came and decorated our home for St. Patrick's day. Okay...it was me acting like a leprechaun. I even ironed which NEVER happens. I didn't want a wrinkled table cloth. I felt so creative especially since I had all of the decorations. I grabbed all of my green and gold supplies and got to work. I know it isn't Martha Stewart but it didn't cost me a cent except for the sign that I got from Walgreens. I love the Subway art found HERE.

Hopefully, Adrian likes it. He isn't too fond of the holiday so we shall see what he thinks of my awesome decorating skills. Yes, I am officially a homemaker. I enjoy decorating and rearranging our home. If you have some decorating tips, I would love to hear about them. Happy St. Patty's day!

Make it Monday

Today, I decided to make Walnut Cookies from Baking by Carole Clements. They are currently in the oven so we shall see if they turned out. I didn't even have to buy any ingredients this time so I was happy about that. Here is the recipe:

1/2 cup butter at room temp
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup flour
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup walnuts, finely chopped (I didn't take the time to chop them so my cookies will probably be more chunky)

1-Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease 2 cookie sheets
2-With an electric mixer, cream the butter until soft. Add 1/3 cup sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour, vanilla, and walnuts.
3-Drop teaspoonfuls of the batter 1-2 inches apart on the sheets and flatten slightly with a fork. bake until deep golden, about 25 minutes.
4-Transfer to a rack set over a baking sheet and sprinkle with the remaining sugar.

Valentine's Day Party

I'm starting to become a party queen. This was the second time I hosted a niece/nephew party and this month we focused on Valentine's Day. It was on Feb 18th and it sure was fun. I didn't have enough time to take photos since I was holding Eli and trying to get my awesome drink made and distributed to everyone. I made my "hospital drink." It is OJ, Cranberry and apple juice mixed with Sprite. Yummy! And, don't forget the crushed ice.

There were three stations again...can you guess them? Crafts, treats, and games. The children decorated heart shaped cookies, made valentine's for Grandma and Grandpa Roberts, Grandma Grant and Jessie. They also colored and made flower clips. The games were pin the heart on Cupid, Tower of hearts and Steal my heart. Overall, it was fun. Until next time...

My baby boy is sitting all my himself

Isn't he adorable or what? I think so. He seriously was sitting all by himself (even if you see a hand helping him). He is getting better and better but I still won't leave him unattended. And yes we put his socks over his pants so he won't pull off his socks at night. :)
