Rodizio Grill

Last night, Adrian and I went to Rodizio Grill with other PWC employees. It is a Brazilian steakhouse; a place I have never experienced before. If you haven't been there, it is amazing. There are four courses. First, you start with a pastry, cheese bread and/or a cinnamon glazed banana. Then you take a plate and get food from the salad bar. There are many cold salads to choose from and yummy fruit.

Afterwards, your table decides to use a little wooden toy that has a green and red side. If you want the servers to bring different kinds of meats you place the toy on the green side. If you don't want them to come, turn it around to the red side. If you are ready for dessert, place it flat down. My favorite was the mahi mahi and the glazed pineapple. Delicious! I also made a mistake of ordering a strawberry brazilian lemonade. Oh boy! I had serious issues afterwards. I felt like I wanted to throw up and my tummy was definitely upset. You would think that I would learn not to order lemonade because I get the same affect each time. Never again will I order a lemonade! Anyway, it was a pretty cool restaurant. Good company and great atmosphere.

My favorite things

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite things. And, I got this idea from my good friend, Mandy. First, I love going on vacation. Although Adrian and I aren't going on vacation till November, I still love vacations. My co-worker is going on a "surprise" vacation next week and it got me thinking of the past vacations that I have been lucky to go on. England, Switzerland, and California have been on the top of my list and I am yet to discover new places.

Second, I love getting free books. I read five more reader's choice books and was awarded a free book of my choice. I went to the library after work and didn't like the choices that they gave me. So, I asked the manager if he had other books to choose from and he had boxes full of donated books. I tried to find one that appealed to me and was able to bring home Good Grief. I can't wait to start reading it. Of course, I'll have to wait till the reader's choice contest is over but I'll be looking forward to it. It told him that the contest has helped me to read more than two books a year. Yeah for me.

Third, Adrian and I went grocery shopping when he got home from work. Since living in Austin, TX we found the best barbecue sauce. It is Stub's BBQ sauce. Well, we found a bottle at Harmonds today so we brought some home. Now, we will need to get some chicken nuggets so we can actually use it to dunk in our favorite sauce. Can't wait!

Finally, did I mention I love getting free stuff? So, at Harmons we were awarded a free bottle of Diet A&W or Diet 7-Up. Since I can't stand 7-Up (I would rather take Sprite any day) I took the Root Beer and thanked the man giving them away. Besides Sprite, I love DrPepper, but that wasn't available so I was happy with the A&W.

I know my favorite things may sound lame to some of you, however, I love them and they are my favorite things. It just so happens that all of these things happened to me today so it has been a lovely day.

Olympics

I love the Olympics! Last night I watched Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh celebrate their victory of winning the gold medal for the women's beach volleyball. It was such a close game, I was on the edge of the couch. It isn't too hard to keep me interested especially when it is the Olympics. Also, I wanted them to win so bad and I was cheering them on. I was thrilled when they scored the winning game point. I almost cried! Can you believe that? Probably not, if you know me. I'm one emotional woman. Well, I think May and Walsh are a really good team and I'm so glad that they represented the USA well.

As far as the Chinese team, I was a little disappointed. Tian Jia was a little sneaky with her fake medical time outs. I couldn't believe that she would pull such ridiculous stunts just to get some rest time. She was coniving, but a little smart at the same time. I'm really glad that they did not win. I don't think they deserved it.

Did anyone else watch that specific game? Well, I have definitely enjoyed the Olympics especially the swimming, diving, and gymnastics. It is too bad that badminton isn't at a good time. I did get to witness the trampoline event and BMX race. Those events are ridiculous.

I'm looking forward to 2012 when the Olmpics are at Great Britain. We are planning on going so hopefully all will go well and we will be able to be at the event. For now, I'll finish watching on our flat screen. Go USA!

4 Year Anniversary

Today we celebrated our four year anniversary. Since the traditional gift is fruit and flowers, I bought Adrian some chocolate covered strawberries at the chocolate cottage. He bought me a Cold Play cd since we are going to the concert in November. It was very sweet.

Since it is Sunday today, we went out for our anniversary on Saturday. We went to Bombay house which is the best Indian restaurant in Utah. Then we went to see Iron Man at the dollar theatre which we both enjoyed. I wanted to see The Sisterhood and the Traveling Pants but I knew that Adrian did not want to see it. I made a wise decision! I love Adrian so much and I'm so grateful that we are married. He makes me laugh when I'm down and comforts me when I'm sad. Although we may be different, we do have similarities and we balance each other out. Adrian, thank you for a wonderful anniversary. I love you!

Wisdom Teeth Out

My cute husband, Adrian got his wisdom teeth out last Friday. Of course, I took the day off work to take care of him. The appointment was at 8am and took about 45 minutes. Meanwhile, I went to Smiths to pick up some pudding, yogurt, soup, and the three prescription drugs. I also had some time to read Breaking Dawn which I am enjoying. When I returned, they took me to a waiting room. I hoped and prayed that I wouldn't get emotional when I saw him since I needed to be the strong one. Luckily I didn't shed a tear but actually laughed a little. The oral surgeon used general anesthesia so Adrian sounded a little drunk. He reminded me of Dudley Moore in the 1981 movie Arthur. If you haven't seen it, it is a great movie. Anyway, he was hilarious and was unable to stop his hicups. Of course, he doesn't really remember but I sure do. He didn't experience any pain yesterday so we ended up going to Green Street for PWC's get together. Adrian really wanted to go so I was his chauffur. I enjoyed a strawberry pina coloda and some other appetizers. Yummy! At least we were able to get out of the house. Now, he is in a little more pain and resting. I hope he gets better soon and the swelling goes down. I'm sure he will and he will be back to normal. By the way, this is my 100th post. Yippee!

Ducks, ducks and more ducks

Duck Race in New York City

As some of you may know, I love ducks! I even have a duck bathroom. So, my mom told me about a duck event in New York City on August 6. There were approximately 25,000 rubber ducks that took the plunge into the East River and raced from the Brooklyn Bridge to South Street Seaport for the 2008 Duck Race! The race was a charity benefit for the Special Olympics. Too bad I wasn't in NYC at the time to attend the duck race. That sounded like a blast!
